G protein–coupled estrogen receptor: a promising therapeutic target for aldosterone-induced hypertension

چکیده
Aldosterone is one of the most essential hormones synthesized by adrenal gland because it regulates water and electrolyte balance. G protein–coupled estrogen receptor (GPER) a newly discovered aldosterone receptor, which proposed to mediate non-genomic pathways while hormone simultaneously interacts with mineralocorticoid receptor. In contrast its cardio-protective role in postmenopausal women via interaction estrogen, GPER seems trigger vasoconstriction effects can further induce sodium retention presence aldosterone, indicating two entirely different binding sites for aldosterone. Accumulating evidence also points mediating hypertension risk factors GPER. Therefore, this review, we aimed summarize research on these interactions help (1) elucidate activated blood vessels, heart, kidney; (2) compare actions between mediated GPER; (3) address potential as new promising therapeutic target aldosterone-induced hypertension.

متن کاملBioinformatics-Based Prediction of FUT8 as a Therapeutic Target in Estrogen Receptor-Positive Breast Cancer
Abstract Introduction: Estrogen receptor-positive (ER-positive) breast cancer is a subgroup of breast tumors that is more likely to respond to hormone therapy. ER-positive and ER- negative breast cancers tend to show different patterns of metastasis because of different signaling cascade and genes that are activated by estrogen response. Genetic factors can contribute to high rates of metastas...

متن کاملPG F2α Receptor: A Promising Therapeutic Target for Cardiovascular Disease
Prostaglandins (PGs), a group of key lipid mediators, are involved in numerous physiological and pathological processes including inflammation and cardiovascular homeostasis. Each PG acts on its specific and distinct cell surface G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) or peroxisome proliferator-activated receptors (PPARs). Prostaglandin F(2α) receptor (FP) is required for female reproductive funct...
متن کاملEstrogen receptor beta is a novel therapeutic target for photoaging.
One of the many harmful factors faced by the skin is solar UV radiation, which damages skin by inducing chronic low-grade inflammation through increased expression of proinflammatory cytokines, metalloproteinases (MMPs) and cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2). Estrogen receptors (ERs) alpha and beta are ligand-dependent transcription factors that are expressed in skin, and an ERbeta agonist has previously...
